Chania Film Festival is an international festival taking place on the island of Crete, at the last week of October every year. A big annual celebration of art and culture in the middle of autumn in the beautiful town of Chania.
An organization that quickly became an institution with worldwide collaborations, with many parallel events, recognition and acceptance. A cinematographic event that aspires to host the best films in the field of cinema, from all around the world. A meeting place for fiction films, documentary and animation films, as well as directors, producers and actors.
Chania Film Festival – Culture Celebration
The Chania Film Festival constitutes an international film festival that quickly transitioned from being an organization to a validated institution counting many collaborations and simultaneous events. It is a celebration of the 7th art and a place where local and international filmmakers have the artistic freedom to present their work and interact.
Every year, during a 10day period starting from the last week of October, the Chania Film Festival along with the cine-Classes, which is the educational branch of the festival, there is an artistic and creative, cinematic buzz across the city on so many levels.
The 10th Chania Film Festival takes place this year from 19 to 29 October and has prepared a rich program with screenings, exhibitions, masterclasses, publications, tributes and a rich list of films and workshops for the Educational Community.
