Interior Design in 2024 – What Does the Future Hold?
In 2022, we saw an entry of natural materials and earth-inspired colours take priority, especially in communal spaces like the living room. Blame three years of living through a pandemic, but biophilic design continues to take off, with tons of designers taking their cues from nature via new lines, shapes and natural textures.
As always, climate change and the high energy prices are front and centre, and many designers mention sustainable and locally made design as an emerging trend.

Textured wall ideas can make an interior space more interesting, a cool space cosier, and every area of the house much more elegant and characterful and layered.

We think people are going back to their roots. While not so much a trend per se (a beautiful piece of marble never goes out of elegance and style), the prolific use of stone in our homes isn’t set to decline and we are almost convinced it will never fade.
Marble home decor remains a timeless staple in the art of interior design. With a rich history of architectural and structural glory from Solomon’s temple to the Parthenon of Ancient Greece and from the Taj Mahal to the pillars of the Supreme Court, decorative marble elicits the essence of integrity, durability, and luxury wherever it is displayed.
What will change, however, is how it’s used especially in places like the kitchen benchtop or the bathroom.

Interior sustainability is about the needs of the contemporary without compromising the aptitude of future generations to meet their own. Sustainable interior design is environmentally conscious with an emphasis on recycled materials and low carbon footprint emissions.
We understand sustainability in design as the use of objects or products that are characterized by certain principles of economic and social sustainability, but mostly of ecological sustainability.

By integrating the Internet of Things (IoT), smart home systems and devices can effectively operate together to proceed to automate actions based on the owners’ preferences, needs and priorities.
Homes around the world are getting smarter. Data from the Statista Technology Market Outlook estimates that over 130 million households are home to at least one smart speaker, for example, and this figure is expected to rise to as many as 335 million in the next 5 years.
